Michael Wood is a Portfolio Analyst with The Otto Group. In his role, Michael assists the firm’s financial advisors in the composition and maintenance of investment portfolios.

Michael’s responsibilities involve fundamental and technical portfolio analysis, including the understanding and application of historical trends and financial metrics, along with the regulatory and legal aspects of investment portfolio management. Using analytical skills combined with market intelligence, Michael is instrumental in building quantitative models designed to allocate each client’s customized portfolio.

Michael is a May 2021 graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, with a concentration in Asset Management. During Michael’s final semester at USF, he earned his Bloomberg Market Concepts Certificate of Completion. Michael is Series 7 licensed and has completed the Level I exam of the CFA Program and is pursuing the CFA charter.

A resident of Bradenton, Michael was raised in Cortez Village, Florida. For more than 25 years his father has operated a commercial fishing fleet, a family business which Michael has always been in support of. Michael is a graduate of Manatee High School, where he was a member of the Varsity baseball team as well as serving as captain of the golf team.

Michael is a quick learner and savors the finance industry. In his spare time, you may find Michael on the golf course, playing softball with a local team, or captaining one of the family boats from the Cortez docks.
